What is the difference between a 3G Network and a Wi-Fi Network on a call? >>
Wi-Fi has better sound quality than 3G Networks and is cheaper to use, you don't need a 3G Data Plan with a carrier to route voice calls. While 3G Networks have greater coverage than Wi-Fi Networks or Hotspots, you will need to purchase a 3G Data Plan from a local carrier (extra costs) that will also bill you for roaming charges as soon as you leave their 3G coverage zone.

Do I need special equipment or a router to make this work? >>
No additional telephone lines, PBX hardware or installation is needed. VoxSun will work with any high-speed, stable internet connects and requires a minimum of 64kbps of bandwidth per call. You need a router that will make the internet connection available to your phones/devices.
For best voice quality, we recommend a router that is QoS (Quality of Service) enabled. By configuring your QoS router to prioritize the voice traffic over other internet traffic, you’ll experience better voice quality when your internet is being used for other activities (e.g. downloading large files, watching online videos, etc). You can also run a speed test and see our recommendations under the Test your Bandwidth section.
What are the minimum system requirements? >>
Since your phone system is in the cloud and delivered online, the only equipment you need in your office are the IP phones and the router with internet connection.

How do I log in to my account? >>
Using your ID and password, you can log in at www.VoxSun.com by clicking on Login in the top right corner.
How do I reset my password? >>
Log in to your account, select the My Settings tab and click on Personal Information in the left menu. In the Password & Security section at the top of the page, select Change.
What is the Administrator? >>
The Administrator has full access to make changes to the account setup and configuration. This person will receive the payment and account details upon completion of purchase and ongoing notifications anytime updates are made to the account. The Administrator will also be able to make additional purchases from the account and configure other user’s extensions. Other users will only be able to setup their own extensions.
To log in as an Administrator, use your dedicated local number and administrator password. Only the Administrator will see the Company Settings tab in their account. If you are unsure of whom your Administrator is, please contact customer support.
What is the Operator? >>
When a caller to the main number does not select an option or extension, they will be automatically directed to the Operator. Operator status can be changed anytime in the account.
What happens when internet or power goes down? >>
Because VoxSun is cloud-based, it’s not dependent on your power or internet connection to continue receiving calls or faxes. Use your mobile phone as one of your forwarding numbers so even if your office internet or power is lost, your calls can still be made and received from your cell phone and even show your business number (VoxSun app). Even your faxes can be accessed from your email or browser on your cell phone.

How do I retrieve my voice and fax messages? >>
VoxSun receives voicemail and faxes 24/7 and offers several ways for you to access them.
In your online account
All messages will be saved in your online account. Log in to your account and recent messages will be displayed on the Overview page. Click the “Play” button next to the message you want to hear or “View” for fax messages.
Using the Softphone or the iPhone app
The Softphone and the VoxSun iPhone app include visual voicemail and fax, allowing you to see all the voice and fax messages you have received. Simply click on the voice or fax message to open or play the message.
You can also have your voice and fax messages forwarded to your email. Select the Fax tab and click on Notification Settings in the left menu.
How do I setup my greeting? >>
Log in to your account and in the right column click on Greetings. Select the 'New' button for the greeting you want to customize and follow the simple on-screen instructions. You can record your new greeting over the phone or using a microphone connected to your computer or use our default system greetings.
You can also have your greetings professionally recorded.
Is there a limit on the length of voicemail greetings? >>
Greetings are limited to 15 minutes.
How do I setup my company extensions? >>
As the Administrator, you can setup your virtual extensions to connect remote employees under one main number, deliver business announcements and more. Each extension can be configured with a wide range of blocking, screening, fax and routing options.
Log in to your account and select the PBX Operator tab and follow the instructions.
How do I customize my answering rules? >>
Log in to your account and click on Answering Rules. Select ADD RULE and follow the setup wizard.
What is the Softphone? >>
The Softphone is a free, interactive desktop tool that enables real-time control of your incoming calls and faxes and access to entire phone system. Using the Softphone, you can screen calls and determine how they are handled, respond to callers with text-to-voice messages without answering, send and receive faxes and access account and contacts. When a Softphone is assigned to a separate line, it acts just like a regular phone, allowing the user to make outbound calls and pick up calls already sent to voicemail.
How can I answer calls with the Softphone? >>
Accept incoming calls. When you have an incoming call, the phone number and caller ID will appear on the softphone, allowing you to answer the call, ignore the call and send to voicemail, forward the call to another number or reply with a text to voice message. You can also send the caller to voicemail and screen the message.
How do I send an Internet fax message? >>
To send a fax message, log into your account, click the Fax button in the top right corner of the Overview page. Designate a recipient (phone number or select from your Contacts), select a cover page, add the attachment and click Send Fax.
For fax via email: You can send a fax by just sending an email. Simply address your fax to the recipient's fax number with “@fax.voxsun.com” appended to the number, for example, 5146000155@fax.voxsun.com. The subject of your message will be sent as the cover page, and the body and supported attachment types (such as PDF and word documents) will also be sent.
Note: You must send from an email address that is included in your VoxSun account. To add an email address, log in to your account and go to My Settings -> Fax Settings -> Email to Fax Options.
Can I use the VoxSun Smartphone apps with my service? >>
Yes. All VoxSun Office customers can use the Smartphone applications at no additional cost. The app provides access to your entire VoxSun business phone system, including voicemails. It also allows you to use your VoxSun number as your caller ID when you make business calls from your Smartphone. For more information, please visit this page.
What devices do you sell with VoxSun Office? >>
You have the option of purchasing business-class IP phones and devices for your business phone system.
How long before my phones arrive? >>
Your IP phones will arrive approximately 5 to 7 business days from the day of ordering, depending on the shipping method selected. After order processing, procurement and packaging, we ship UPS. The best part is that the phones arrive Plug & Ring ready. So all you have to do is activate it online and plug them into your router/Internet and start making calls.
Can I use my existing analog phones with VoxSun Office? >>
Yes. If you want to use your existing analog telephones, all you need is the Linksys SPA-2101 ATA. Connect the ATA to your router and connect your analog phone to the ATA. This will allow the ATA to convert the digital VoxSun phone line to analog so it works with your telephones.
Can I use my existing IP phones with VoxSun Office? >>
Yes. VoxSun Office can be used with most SIP compatible IP phones. They need to be unlocked by your original provider and will require manual configuration.
Important: Please note that our support team will not be able to troubleshoot or configure IP phones purchased from another vendor. We recommend customers take advantage of the simplicity of our pre-configured IP phones.
Can I buy phones without purchasing additional service? >>
We currently do not sell hardware as a separate item. If you need to replace an existing phone, you can do so at no additional cost by calling customer service if the phone is being replaced within one year of purchase.
Can I use a cordless phone? >>
Yes. If you want to use a cordless telephone, all you need is the Linksys SPA-2101 ATA. Connect the ATA to your router and connect your cordless phone to the ATA. This will allow the ATA to convert the digital VoxSun phone line to analog so it works with your telephones.
What is an ATA? >>
ATA is an acronym for Analog Telephone Adapter. An ATA usually takes the form of a small box with a power adapter. It allows you to connect your traditional analog phones to the Internet and place Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls.
Can I use my fax machine with VoxSun Office? >>
Yes. You can still use your fax machine to send faxes (all incoming faxes will be received by internet fax) by connecting it to an ATA and connecting the ATA to your router. You will need to buy a VoxSun Office line dedicated for the fax machine to replace the existing phone line.
Can I use my current phone numbers with VoxSun? >>
Yes. You can transfer (port) your existing toll-free or local phone numbers to VoxSun.
Complete your purchase of VoxSun Office by selecting temporary phone numbers
Complete a form for each number you’d like to transfer
We also recommend that you setup your VoxSun Office system completely and forward your existing numbers to your temporary VoxSun numbers

Do I “own” my number? Can I keep my toll-free or local number if I choose to cancel? >>
The number you receive upon signup is your own toll free or local number. If you have paid for at least one month of service and your account is active and in good standing, you may keep your numbers. There is no charge for transferring out numbers. Your account must remain active and in good standing during the number porting process.
How do I select Vanity numbers? >>
After completing purchase of VoxSun Office, you can add additional numbers, including Vanity numbers, from within your online account. Go to Virtual DID and click on Select a DID and then choose your number. A Vanity number is CDN $4.99 per month, with a one-time charge of CDN $24.99. Vanity numbers take 5-7 days to be live and you will receive an email once the number has been activated.

Why is there an E911 fee? >>
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) mandated that all Internet phone service providers interconnected to the public switched telephone network offer E911 as a standard element of their residential and business offerings.
My current operator or mobile carrier will not let me keep my existing 3G data plan if I don’t subscribe to a Cellular or Voice call Plan. What should I do? >>
If you already have a cellular number and 3G data plan with your current mobile provider, download our application and use it for all local and long distance calls. Reduce your cellular plan and keep using the VoxSun application to save more money.
How much will it cost to use my current carrier’s 3G network with a VoxSun plan? >>
Check with your provider’s 3G pricing options and choose a data plan that is most suitable. Beware that roaming charges billed by your 3G data provider (not VoxSun), will apply if you are out of your coverage area and are using the VoxSun app or the internet. Remember that even if you are using VoxSun’s Network, you are also using your mobile provider’s data network (with all its surcharges, limits and penalties) to route voice calls.
My 3G provider or carrier will charge roaming fees as soon as I make or receive a call when I travel to different locations or countries around the world. How can I make sure that I don’t get hit with roaming charges? >>
Switch your 3G Network off during travel. If your 3G provider uses a SIM card to connect to the network, take your SIM card out of your Mobile Phone and only use the Wi-Fi mode with VoxSun for all your calls.
How does the VoxSun app work? >>
The same way as a normal phone service, but you have to be connected to a wireless Wi-Fi signal, a 3G Network or the integrated callBack system for it to work.
Will the VoxSun app work on all Mobile Phones? >>
The VoxSun app will work on iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows mobile and Symbian.
Can I purchase your services if I don’t live in Canada or in the USA? >>
Yes, anyone in the world can buy our services. Virtual numbers (identifiers) will be issued to anyone living anywhere in the world.
How do I dial Local or International destination numbers to call? >>
All local or North American numbers can be dialed without (1) , just put the area code. As for International Calls, you don't need to dial (011), just dial the international code + area code + number.
