It is no secret by now that VoIP can help consumers save money. Reduced phone costs, increased efficiency and more advanced functionalities allow VoIP users to reduced overheads and increase revenue. What you may not know is that these advantages also carry over to the hosted PBXs offered by VoIP providers. Here are three ways a hosted PBX can help you save money.

1) Scalability

Hosted PBXs can be scaled at any time to fit your needs. Since PBXs connect external lines to internal ones, a scalable PBX system will allow you to add and remove extensions from your phone system at any moment. As a result, modifying your PBX will be a simple task, and the only fee you will pay is the cost of the extra extensions.

2) Remote offices

With a hosted PBX, your extensions are handled through a virtual system. Your virtual extensions are connected to a data center in the provider’s cloud. Since the data center is virtual, you no longer require an on-site PBX for every new office, which means you can obtain a phone system for new offices without having to purchase a brand new PBX.

3) Maintenance

Maintenance is a large source of expenses in traditional PBXs. Employees must be paid to accomplish regular updates and components must be purchased when repairs are needed. However, since hosted PBXs are entirely virtual, no hardware must be maintained, and so maintenance fees are severely reduced. On top of that, the data centers to which hosted PBXs are connected are usually on the provider’s cloud, and so providers will take care of any software maintenance. PBX maintenance costs are thus more or less eliminated.
